ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department still is providing the best possible policing of Enid and the surrounding area despite being short about 25% of the officers it wants to have, Chief Bryan Skaggs said Monday, Sept. 25, 2023. EPD is budgeted for 100 officers, and is about 23 short of that currently. Skaggs said with those officers, plus 30 civilian personnel, the department patrols 75 square miles around Enid, with five officers on duty at all times. He said EPD took 86,000 calls in 2022, with 12,000 resulting in a police report being filed.
